Dermatological examinations for the assessment of inflammatory skin diseases, fungal infections, neoplasms, moles, and other skin lesions include: express microscopic examination of skin, nail, and hair fungi; skin biopsy; optical and digital dermatoscopy; creation of an individual mole map/database (using special equipment to monitor mole development over time and track their location on different parts of the body); and allergen testing.
Examinations are performed by a pediatric dermatologist.
Services are available both as state-funded (covered by the National Health Service – NHS) pediatric dermatologist consultations and as paid services.
